Content of Posts

Te Whaea Services (TWS) posts information that will be of use to audiences on Facebook, Instagram, & LinkedIn.  The content of these posts is to promote the Te Whaea building as a venue and to support the activity of those using the venue including NZSD and Toi Whakaari (the schools).

Posts may include re-posts from stakeholders such as the schools, hirers and tenants.  These may also include news stories, videos, photos, and links to Te Whaea’s website and to external performing arts related organisations.

All material posted by visitors will be regarded as public information and may be treated by TWS as such. In particular, by posting on our social media pages, visitors acknowledge that TWS (and/or anyone else) can use, copy, reproduce, modify, publish and distribute the material in any and all media or distribution methods; however, this does not imply endorsement on the part of TWS. This also means TWS can reproduce visitors’ posts for promotional or commercial purposes (with no compensation paid back).

Direct requests on social media

In the public sphere of social media, TWS will endeavour to respond to individual requests for information or assistance. In most instances, social media followers will be directed to information hosted on the Te Whaea website at https://www.tewhaea.org.nz/   

Comments by others are not endorsed

TWS does not necessarily endorse, support, sanction, encourage, verify, or agree with the comments, opinions, or statements posted on its social media accounts by social media visitors. Any comments or information placed online, including advice and opinions, are the views and responsibility of those making the comments and do not necessarily represent the views of TWS.

Occasionally TWS may share, retweet, like, rate or comment on a post to its social media pages, however, this does not imply endorsement on the part of TWS.

Comments are subject to public disclosure

All comments submitted or posted on TWS’s social media accounts are public. TWS reserves the right to restrict or remove any content that violates TWS policies at its sole discretion.

Editing and deletions

TWS reserves the right, but undertakes no duty, to review, edit, move, or delete any material submitted as a comment to information posted on its social media accounts without notice.

While TWS encourages social media participation, TWS asks that all participants adhere to the following Terms of Participation.

Terms of Participation

TWS reserves the right to delete any post that:

  • Breaches any laws.

  • Is unlawful, offensive, obscene, indecent, defamatory, libellous, fraudulent, threatening, abusive, discriminatory, hateful or could incite violence.

  • Contains, or refers to or encourages:

    • offensive language

    • sexual activity or sexuality

    • violence toward anything or any person

    • damage to property

    • criminal activity

    • offensive behaviour

    • any activity that is morally questionable

    • any personal or sensitive information (phone numbers, e-mail, or postal addresses)

    • any endorsement of religious beliefs/practices or political parties, candidates, or groups

    • contains derogatory remarks about any person or organisation

    • contains any information that is untrue or incorrect or implies that to be the case.

    • breaches the intellectual property rights of any person or organisation that purports to reflect our views or be binding on, or posted by, TWS.

The Right to Report Threatening Comments

TWS reserves the right to report any comments that imply harm or imminent danger to anyone. By submitting a comment for posting, you accept that TWS has the right to contact the appropriate authorities to report any suspicious activities, threats, or behaviours.

The contents of Te Whaea social media pages are intended for informational purposes only. TWS shall in no event accept any liability for loss of damage suffered by any person or body due to information provided on these sites or linked sites.

Violation of this policy may result in participants being banned or removed from Te Whaea social media pages.
